How do we get information?

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • You have exchanged your business card with us.
  • You have purchased our products through our online shop.
  • You have purchased our products through our distributor’s online shop.
  • You have made an enquiry to us.
  • You have made an information request to us.
  • You have applied for a job with us.

 

We also receive personal information indirectly, in the following scenarios:

  • You purchase our products through our distributors’ shop and we arrange the delivery for you.
  • An employee of ours gives your contact details as a contact person for our business relationship.
  • A recruit agent gives your CV information so that we understand your professional background.

 

We do not process special category data (i.e. information relating to your ethnicity, gender, nationality, disability, religion, sexual orientation and other diversity-related information) and criminal conviction data. In case we process such data by mistake, we will immediately delete it in a safe way. (e.g. by shredding the record or by digitally delete it from our records)

 

What information do we collect from you and why?

We collect your business card information (i.e. company name, title, First & Last name, address, company email address, phone number). We use this information to provide you with our services; for example, to contact you, provide you with our advertising and marketing tell you which exhibition we will join next, and invoice you. We keep this information throughout your relationship with us. In other words, we will hold your information as long as you maintain business relationship with us.

 

When you purchase through our online shop https://theyamazakihome-europe.com/. we collect your name, email, shipping and billing address, payment details, company name, and phone number. Since our online shop runs on the third party’s platform (i.e. Shopify), Shopify collects some additional information about you such as IP address and information about the device and browser you use. Please read Shopify’s privacy policy. We use this information to fulfil your order and deliver our products. We also use this information to offer personalized services to you; for example, to make suggestions to you for other products which we believe you will also be interested in, and to evaluate information on your recent visits to our shop and how you move around different sections of our shop for analytics purposes to understand how people use our shop so that we can make it more intuitive. We hold this information as long as you maintain relationship with us. Some information related to your behavioural information on the shop is processed using cookies. When you purchase through our distributor’s online shop (i.e. Wayfair), we collect your delivery information (i.e. delivery address, your first and last name, the products you purchased). We use this information to arrange delivery of products according to the order information prepared by our distributor. We hold this information for a couple of days. Once we confirmed the shipment is completed from the stockyard, we shred and delete the information.

 

When you apply for a job with us, we collect information in your CV (i.e. name, home address, email address and/or phone numbers, date of birth, marital status, nationality, educational and employment history, other information contained within your CV or other documents or information you submit to us) When you are successful, we will store your information according to our privacy policy for our staff. When you are not successful, we will store your information for six (6) months from the date we obtain your information to prepare for any possible inquiries or disputes.

 

Why are we able to process your information?

If you are located in the EEA, we note that we are generally processing your information in order to fulfil contracts we have with you or with our business partners (e.g. if you make an order through our online shop or Wayfair’s online shop).

 

When we send direct marketing communications to our prospective customers or when we perform online behavioural marketing, we will ask for your consent. For the consent, you are entitled to give it freely and withdraw it at any time.

 

For other processing activities, we process your information to pursue our legitimate business interests. We always assess that our business interests do not outweigh your fundamental privacy rights. Sharing your information

We will not share your information with any third parties for the purposes of direct marketing.

 

We share your information internally among Yamazaki group companies to manage our business operations, such as obtaining approval from the head office for hiring new staffs.

 

We partner with data processors who are third parties who provide elements of services for us. They will not share your personal information with any organisation apart from us. They will hold it securely and retain it for the period we instruct.

 

We may also share your information in the following circumstances:

Automated decision-making
